City has established an intelligent heating system covering virtually all the households and commercial buildings in the appropriate high density areas of the city and an energy efficient district cooling system for its commercial customers. These systems make use of a range of excess heat sources all created within the city during the course of an average operational day, for example from various industrial and datacentre activities, heat extracted from sewage and bio-based heating.
The project answers the need for transparency and comparability of energy performance calculations. The scope of ExcEED is to create a European database for measured and qualitative data on beyond the state-of-the-art buildings and districts.
Heat4Cool proposes an innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solution to optimize the integration of a set of rehabilitation systems in order to meet the net-zero energy standards. The project develops, integrates and demonstrates an easy to install and highly energy efficient solution for building retrofitting that begins from the Heat4Cool advanced decision-making tool (which addresses the building and district characteristics) and leads to the optimal solution.
PENTAGON aims at paving the way for a new generation of eco-districts, leveraging on enhanced energy conversion systems and a high level integrated management platform simultaneously acting on different energy carriers (thermal, gas and electric). The core of the project is formed by the development of two ground-breaking technologies: an innovative power to gas technology at the district level and an intelligent, versatile and service based IoT (Internet of Things) platform for holistic, multi-vector energy management.
