From 10-13 September, Rapperswil (CH) will be hosting EuroSun2018 – the 12th International Conference on Solar Energy for Buildings and Industry. The conference gathers leading solar energy experts, policy makers and industry representatives to discuss the latest developments in the field. Comprising presentations from distinguished keynote speakers, poster exhibitions and meetings of experts in breakout sessions, the conference is well worth attending if you can get there.

On 11 September, the researcher Antoine Leconte from CEA INES will present the results of “Comparative Dynamic Performance Tests of Two Real Technology Packages for Buildings Heating System Retrofit”. The presentation will be complemented by a publication from researchers David Cheze and Nicolas Lamaison, co-authored by Bosch Thermotechnik and Exergy Ltd. The work is rooted in the activities performed within the THERMOSS project at CEA INES and describes how two THERMOSS heating technologies (namely, the hybrid solar heat pump and Heat Interface Unit) can lead to 20-30% savings in primary energy consumption through building retrofit. The study tested the potential of these heating technologies before their installation at the THERMOSS demo sites in Summer/Autumn 2018.
