On 1st and 2nd October, the General Assembly of the THERMOSS project gathered in Genoa for a GA and review meeting. The new Project Officer Eleftherios Bourdakis and PTA Daniel Garcia-Almiñana also attended the meeting held at the RINA facilities.

We were happy to discuss the recently finished and upcoming goals of the THERMOSS project with all our partners and we already look forward to the next meeting. Our project is reaching its final stage and we cannot wait to share with you all results of the THERMOSS project.

At the end of the month, our General Assembly meeting will take place at the RINA Headquarters in Genova, Italy. The meeting is planned for three days – starting on 30th September and ending on 2nd October.
We look forward to meeting all of our partners.

THERMOSS project has just hit the 30th month of its progress. Therefore, the Consortium met at the end of March at the facilities of Riga Technical University (RTU) in Latvia.

The General Assembly have discussed all project achievements, updates, plans and future goals for the remaining 12 months of the project. During the meeting, FENIX TNT interviewed some partners whose relevant experience in THERMOSS project will be assembled in a project video. The Consortium has also visited the Latvian pilot sites.

The Latvian residential demo sites are important as they are mainly detached houses. In the 4 houses, different technologies will be installed, such as micro fuel cells, gas absorption heat pump and hybrid heat pumps. The micro fuel cell uses gas to generate electricity for daily usage without any extra costs, while the gas absorption heat pump produces heat by extracting it from the air.

All these technologies use gas as a fuel to some extent but are not yet very much present in Latvian territory. That means THERMOSS is really a ground-breaking project. We are already looking forward to our next project workshop at Sustainable Places 2019.

During 22nd and 23rd March 2017, the THERMOSS (Building and District Thermal Retrofit and Management Solutions) 13 members from six different EU countries and Switzerland met in Le Bourget du Lac for the first project update meeting, which furthermore saw the participation of the Project Technical Advisor, Daniel Garcia. During this meeting, participants were offered the possibility to visit the French National Institute for Solar Energy experimental heating and cooling dynamic test facilities (INES), Chambery, France.

THERMOSS is committed to contributing to the sustainability of its demo sites. In order to accomplish this important task, various activities are being carried out.

On January 26, 2017, a visit to the Finish demo site, specifically, to the Micropolis buildings and the row houses took place. The demo will consist of the installation of a heat recovery system in Micropolis and a smart home controller system in the row houses, plus solar thermal panels installation in both cases.
